Added this black shingle roof kit to my Dundalk barrel and it both looks sharp and sheds rain and snow far better than the bare cedar staves. The shingles are good quality and the kit had everything needed. Installation took a couple of hours. Highly recommend for anyone in a wet or snowy climate.
The black asphalt shingles give the sauna a finished, intentional look and protect the top of the barrel from weather. Easy enough to install in an afternoon. The contrast against the cedar is really attractive. Glad I added it.
The shingle kit does the job and keeps water off the sauna roof line. Quality of the shingles is solid. The instructions were a little sparse, but if you've done any roofing it's straightforward. Looks much better than exposed cedar after a few seasons.
We get heavy snow and this roof kit has kept our barrel sauna dry and protected. The black shingles match our house roof nicely too. Came packaged well with the freight order. Easy add-on.
