How an outdoor sauna works
An outdoor sauna is a weather-rated cabin or barrel that heats a bed of stones on an electric or wood-fired stove to 150–195°F. Ladle water over the hot stones to release löyly — the burst of soft steam that defines the Finnish ritual — then step out into the cool air to cool down. Pick your form factor (barrel, cube or garden cabin), set it on a level pad, match it to a compatible heater, and you’re set.
