Heating element replacement — requires a licensed electrician. Typical time: 1–2 hours.

1. Disconnect power at the breaker panel — verify with a non-contact voltage tester before touching any wiring.
2. Allow the unit to cool completely (at least 30 minutes after last use).
3. Drain water from the boiler following the manufacturer's drain procedure.
4. Locate and remove the access panel covering the heating element.
5. Photograph existing wiring before disconnecting — label each terminal.
6. Unscrew and remove the failed element; inspect the threads and gasket seat.
7. Install the new element with a fresh gasket; torque to spec (typically 40–50 ft-lbs).
8. Reconnect wiring to original terminals; restore water supply and check for leaks.
9. Restore power and run a full steam cycle to verify correct operation.
